| Salt Point Trail Run11 Km, 26 Km, & 50 Km(Hikers welcome) Sunday, August 24, 20088:30 a.m.
Whether you're considering trail running for the first time or are an experienced ultra runner, we promise you a rewarding experience in a beautiful environment. We are recognized for the spectacular courses, unsurpassed aid stations, well-marked trails, accurately measured distances, distinctive shirt designs, and friendly atmosphere – all at a reasonable price. While awards are given to the first female and male finishers, PCTR events are designed to encourage the enjoyment of trail running and emphasize personal achievement.
Start: Salt Point State Park, Jenner, CA. The park is 18 miles north of Jenner along Coast Highway One (Map). For detailed directions to Jenner, please click on Driving Directions. Course: Located along the rugged California coastline, these trails travel through forested hills, open grasslands, pristine prairies, and pygmy forests with panoramic views of rocky coves and the Pacific Ocean. (Distances are accurately measured using a Rolatape® surveyor's measuring wheel.) 11 Km - 1,080' 26 Km - 2,500' 50 Km - 4,960' (Elevation changes determined using an Avocet altimeter.) Weather: Jenner Lodging: Hotels, Motels, & Camping Packet Pick-Up: 7:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. at Salt Point State Park. Park entrance is $6. Time Limit: There is an 9-hour time limit for the 50 km distance. Aid Stations: Fully-stocked aid stations every 6 - 11 kilometers. You can expect fresh fruit, salty snacks, assorted candy, boiled potatoes & salt, water, and Clif Shot Electrolyte sports drink. If you would like to be sure that you have Clif product, SaltStick capsules, or any other specific item at the event, you should carry it with you. Additionally, it is highly recommended that runners carry at least 20 oz. of water between aid stations. Photo Post-run Picnic: Soup and Chili! Photo Awards: T-shirts will be given to all pre-registered runners. While awards are given to the first female and male finishers, PCTR events are designed to encourage the enjoyment of trail running and emphasize personal achievement. All 50 Km finishers will receive a custom coaster for the event. PCTR Race Series: Participants are automatically included in the race series and points are awarded to the first 8 finishers in each age group.
