This is the original Skyline to the Sea trail run! The trail begins at Saratoga Gap and descends from the Santa Cruz Mountains to the deep blue Pacific Ocean. Along the way you will encounter amazing views of the Monterey Bay, coastal and redwood forests, lush ferns, chaparral, exquisite sandstone formation, crystal clear waterfalls and the beauty of California wildflowers. This gorgeous venue is not to be missed.


Bib Number Pick-Up:

8:00 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. at Saratoga Gap, Skyline Blvd. (No parking at Saratoga Gap. Runners should either be dropped off at Saratoga Gap or take the shuttle service from Hwy 1.)

Shuttle Service:

7:00 a.m. from Hwy 1 (near Finish, Directions ) to Saratoga Gap (Start). The bus shuttle is $12 and is not included in your entry fee. Runners' warm clothing (one jacket & pants, ONLY) will be transported to the finish area. Please note that parking at Saratoga Gap is prohibited.

Shirt Options:

Cotton shirts: Unisex 100% “Cotton Soft“ that is short sleeved preshrunk with a tag-less label.

Sport-Tek: These Ultra Performance shirts for ladies or men are 95/5 poly/spandex that keeps you cooler and drier while running. Raglan short sleeves add comfort and makes for easy movement. Ladies has a V-neck while the male shirt is crew.

Patagonia Shirts: Stay dry and cool and get some protection from the sun and salt in silky, lightweight Capilene. It’s quick to wick, ultra breathable and fast to dry. Made from 100% all-recycled polyester with 15 UPF sun protections and Gladiodor natural odor control.

Aid Stations:

Fully-stocked aid stations every 9 - 12 kilometers. You can expect fresh fruit, salty snacks, assorted candy, boiled potatoes & salt, water, and Clif Shot Electrolyte sports drink. It is highly recommended that runners carry at least 20 oz. of water between aid stations.

Awards:

Awards are given to the 1st place female and male finishers overall in each distance. Ribbons are awarded to the female and male 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finisher in each ten-year age group for each distance. Ultra marathon (50 km) finishers will receive a custom event coaster.
