Rodeo Beach Trail Run

8 Km, 20 Km, 30 Km & 50 Km

Run-day Instructions

Directions

The Rodeo Beach Trail Run will start at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22nd at Fort Cronkhite.  To reach Rodeo Beach and Fort Cronkhite, please click on this Map for driving directions.   Please park in the dirt parking lot at the end of the paved road.

Lodging

Please click on Hotels & Motels for a partial listing of places to stay.

Course

The course will be marked with ribbon approximately every 100 meters and colored coded as follows:

  8 Km - White

20 Km - Green

30 Km - Pink

50 Km - Pink/Green

There will be at least two blue-striped ribbons before a turn in the course.  The blue-striped ribbons will be placed before and on the same side as the required turn.  After you complete the turn, there will be white, green, and/or pink ribbons indicating the correct route.

If you don't see your respective ribbon for 2 minutes, you are off course.  One of the few rules of trail running is that, if you get off course, you must retrace your path until you find where you left the course and then continue along the marked course.  Failure to follow this rule may result in disqualification even though you may have traveled a greater distance than the official course.

Please note that the Morning Sun Aid Station is part of the official course.  All 20 Km, 30 Km, and 50 Km runners need to take the short, but steep, out and back trail to the aid station.

No dogs allowed on the course.

Please click Course Map  for a topographical map.  Course maps will also be available at runner check-in on Saturday morning.  The 50 Km runners will do both 20 Km and 30 Km lollipop loops - you choose the order.

Elevation Gain:

        10 Km - 1,100 ft.

        20 Km - 2,960 ft.

        30 Km - 4,660 ft.
