Get ready for the 41st Annual Dick Collins Firetrails, happening on September 29, 2024, at Lake Chabot Marina in Castro Valley, California. This historic event returns with all-new courses for trail runners, featuring challenging yet scenic routes through rarely-used East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) trails. 

The 2024 event promises to deliver an exciting challenge, honoring the legacy of Dick Collins and the trail-running community.

New Courses for 2024

This year, Dick Collins Firetrails introduces brand-new courses that will take runners on a journey through the scenic Rancho Laguna Park in Moraga. Each course has been carefully crafted to challenge runners with a mix of elevations and technical terrain, all while providing stunning vistas of the East Bay region. 

  • Bay Ridge 100K. Starting at 5:00 AM with a 16.5-hour time limit
  • Firetrails 50-mile. Starting at 6:00 AM with a 15.5-hour time limit
  • Golden Hills Marathon. Starting at 8:00 AM with a 13.5-hour time limit
  • Dinosaur Ridge 30K. Starting at 8:30 AM with a 6-hour time limit

Race Highlights:

  1. All races are UTMB Index events, perfect for runners seeking qualification for prestigious international events.
  2. The Firetrails 50-mile race is part of the Pacific USATF Grand Prix, adding an extra competitive edge.
  3. The new out-and-back to Rancho Laguna Park offers enhanced crew access and beautiful scenery for spectators.

Dick Collins Firetrails is known for its incredible race awards. Every finisher will receive custom race gear and keepsakes to commemorate their experience, including:

Aid Stations, Crew, and Pacers

Each course is fully supported with numerous aid stations to keep runners fueled. Crew members will have access to most aid stations, and pacers are allowed for both the 100K and 50-mile events.
