Get ready for the ultimate California trail running experience with the 50 and 100 Mile Race at Marin Headlands on August 8-9, 2024. This event offers seasoned ultra-runners the chance to tackle a challenging yet rewarding course, taking you through some of the most breathtaking landscapes of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Course Tour
The race kicks off at Rodeo Beach, where runners will embark on an epic journey through the scenic Marin Headlands. With an elevation gain of 8,160 feet for the 50-mile race and 17,720 feet for the 100-mile race, this course will test even the most experienced ultra-runners.
Both the 50-mile and 100-mile races offer breathtaking vistas of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding areas, creating a one-of-a-kind running experience. The course is well-marked and supported, ensuring that you can focus on your run without worrying about losing your way.
What About Aid Stations?
Aid stations are located every 3-8 miles, fully stocked with fresh fruit, salty snacks, boiled potatoes, candy, water, and Clif Shot Electrolyte sports drinks. For runners hitting the 50-mile mark and beyond, the Tennessee Valley aid stations will offer additional support, including soup and real food to keep you fueled throughout the night and into the next morning.
It’s recommended to carry at least 20 ounces of water between aid stations for optimal hydration.
Pacers are welcome to join runners after the 50-mile mark to provide extra encouragement as they push toward the finish line. Packet pick-up is available on Saturday morning at Rodeo Beach, with the race beginning promptly at 7:00 a.m.
Awards and Entry Information
All participants will receive Patagonia Capilene shirts, tumbled porcelain coasters, and other race goodies. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers overall and to the first-place finishers in each 10-year age group. However, overall winners will not qualify for age-group awards.
Entry Fees:
- 50 Mile — $85 ($95 after July 25, 2024)
- 100 Mile — $200 ($225 after July 25, 2024)
